Introduction to No 55.
It was about 8 years when we first fell in love with the garden at No55 which is why we bought the house when we moved to Sussex from Yorkshire.
The day we moved in we realised that we had our work cut and and the weeds liked to grow rather fast. What had we taken on ? We really did not know what we were doing !
When we compare these first couple of photos I can't believe the transformation and feel really pleased with what we have achieved so far.
We have learnt the hard way about what works and what doesn't and this spring the borders are filling up with lovely colour compared to the blank canvas we started with.
We are still very much novice gardeners but little by little and year by year we seem to be getting better at gardening although it is hard trying to fit everything in with busy lives at times - even during lockdown.
These photos were taken yesterday and just show how beautiful spring can really be, even after the recent rain.
This year we have focussed on the one area of the garden that was seldom used and needed a makeover and are thrilled with the transformation.
The 'Gardiner's Bar and Grill" has been opened to 'residents only' at this stage and we are looking forwards to getting on with some new planting in this new area.
We've also taken the gym outside to the garden until normal life, whatever that may be in the future, resumes.
Meanwhile, everything that we love about the garden in the spring is keeping us very cheerful during lockdown including the rather fabulous tree peony.
We do hope to complete a virtual tour of garden to share with you in coming months so you can see how we are getting on with new planting ideas.
So whatever you are doing to keep yourself cheerful, enjoy your garden and the calmness it can bring.

Looks lovely, especially like the new area (including the pub!).
