What's In The Garden This Week

The weather has been crazy this week! Monday started with a freezing North wind that blew evetything around and broke bits off of my clematis Dr Ruppel. By Thursday it was a sweltering 27 degrees in the garden and too hot to work! Some of my little seedlings were struggling a bit so had to get the hose out. Yesterday's downpour was very welcome and everything looks a little fresher. A major tragedy - all my Salvia caradonnas seem to be dead. I wonder if they got waterlogged over winter. However the irises and lupins are looking good and the roses are coming out.
Iris sibirica looks amazing with Sisyrinchium striatum.
Lupin Rachel de Thame
Briza media is just coming out - I love its delicacy against the allium.
The pond looks a bit fresher after the rain.
